Oklahoma’s only African Lodge offers comfortable accommodations and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to fall asleep to the sounds of the lions and tigers roaring next door!
The African Lodge is part of Tiger Safari Zoological Park’s authentic onsite African village. The Shi-Awela Safari Village is made up of four private bush huts that circle a small lagoon. Thorn trees and natural veldt long grass complete the setting and make a great backdrop for pictures.
Your unique African hut vacation rental includes a private and furnished open-air deck, complete with a fire pit, a gas grill, and a lounge area with a lantern space heater.
Inside, The Lodge is cozy and homey with an open floor plan. The main level features a queen-sized bed and a small dining area, as well as a kitchenette, a wall-mounted flat screen, and a Large Desk. A ladder leads to the lofted sleeping area with room for four to six children.
The Lodge offers easy access to the park and a wide range of wildlife encounters that allow you to “choose your own adventure” with regards to the animals living onsite.
Tiger Safari Zoological Park is a full-service entertainment venue, with a wide range of unique experiences for guests to take part in during your stay. We welcome groups both large and small to share your special life events with us — everything from a children’s birthday party to wedding services and photographs with monkeys, tigers, reptiles and more!
There is a daytime party and event room available for rent to host banquets or serve cake. We offer fun “Safari Slumber Parties,” axe throwing lessons (nerf axes available for children), reptile building tours, lion jeep encounters, and romantic “Safari Nights Out.” There is also the one-of-a-kind Wizarding World of Tiger Safari Pumpkin Patch located just down the road!

My husband surprised me with a trip and overnight stay here. I LOVED IT! The cabin/hut we stayed in was beautiful with wonderful accommodations (Keurig & bottled water) along with beautiful furnishings and decor. We got the Mega VIP package and it was so much fun. The workers were so much fun and very knowledgeable as well as loving towards the animals. I would recommend anyone making a visit or planning an overnight stay! so worth it!! We plan on returning and bringing our senior adults as well as just telling everyone about our experience! — Cassandra T.
Great field trip! Our students and staff had a wonderful day! — Elizabeth C.
So impressed with this place! All animal enclosures were top notch. Animals are very well cared for. You can even stay overnight overlooking the tigers! Great place for company, sorority/fraternities parties. They even have an axe throwing area. — Angela D.
Calm, educational, hands on, beautiful, very accommodating, I can’t say enough! The animals are very well cared for and spoiled! We did the Mega VIP. It was an amazing experience!! Highly recommend it. — Dana M.
if you're looking for a place to take your kids or just go to for yourself and friends this place is a must go to see. The staff is super friendly and you can actually see the animals close up. The tiger feeding is awesome and the VIP was worth paying for to hold and touch some of the animals. Grandkids loved it and so did my daughter and I. Will definitely be back, worth our two-hour drive for sure. — Patricia H.
